Post Production – Shot Listing

Scene opens with a low angled long shot of a character (Graham) boiling a saucepan of mushroom brew in a kitchen on the halls of residence. The main character (Dan) enters the room and asks Graham what he is doing. Graham explain he’s brewing some mushrooms for a friend and offers a sample cup to Dan.

Cam cuts to a close up of the mug and tracks it as Dan tilts it towards his mouth.

Cam cuts back to low angled long shot as Graham leaves the room to visit his friend, thus leaving Dan on his own.

Cam cuts to a long shot showing Dan walking down the hall from the kitchen to his room.

Cam cuts to a low angled shot from a 45 degree angle of Dan walking to his door. This then cuts to another low angled shot, this time head on, showing his door close behind him

Cam cuts to a low angled shot of Dan sat at his computer watching an optical illusion on his screen. He looks puzzled, eventually noticing his hand and staring at it.

Cam cuts to a POV shot from Dan’s perspective showing his hand moving infront of the optical illusion on the screen. The screen gradually appears more warped as if it is melting and the screen becomes increasingly brighter.

Cam cuts back to low shot of Dan as he tears himself away from the illusion and desperately leaves his room.

Cam cuts back to the long shot of Dan walking back down the hall but this time it is tilted, the hall is glowing with waves of strong reds and greens. Dan stumbles down the corridor looking as his hands and rubbing his face.

Cam cuts to a POV shot from Dan’s perspective of a third character (Peter) walking toward the camera. Peter asks Dan if he’s ok whilst staring into the lens of the camera. His face becomes warped and scares Dan.

Cam cuts to a long shot as Dan shoves Peter away from him and attempts to escape down the hall.

Cam cuts to mid shot of Peter expressing his concern over Dan yelling down the hall. Graham walks into the shot from the side and explains how he gave Dan soiled water and he is experiencing a Placebo.
